The Shack
hardcover edition
Mackenzie Allen Phillips’ youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, ostensibly from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.
Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack’s world forever.
In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant THE SHACK wrestles with the timeless question: Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain? The answer Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You’ll want everyone you know to read this book.

It had a big impact on how i see God. He is a lot more compassionate than the media makes him out to be and I’ve leaped forward in my relationship with him over the past few months. This novel really did help greatly; taking HIM out of the box.
I cried and I laughed. The book spoke to me and to my heart and soul. The gift the author presents to “us humans” is wonderful. His words wonderful in presenting, introducing us to God and His family and what the Word of God really is about. “Pull up a chair and let’s talk”.
This is an amazing book. So incredibly meaningful to me and helps me break some of the unhelpful boxes I try to put God in. The beginning is absolutely heartbreaking, and I’m not usually much for things that make me cry, but he uses the story in such an amazing way.
This is an excellent book and one to be read many times.
It engrosses you, makes you laugh and cry.
It warms the heart and if you believe than your beliefs are stronger. It is a book for all ages and you won’t forget the message.
